    Victory - An escape film built around football (soccer)

    Michael Caine stars as an allied POW officer during WWII who just happens to be an ex premier league footballer (soccer to you and me). Conveniently, there is a Nazi officer who used to play for the German national team present (Max Von Sydow). The camp is filled with lads keen for a game, and what starts out as a gentlemanly match swells into a propaganda vehicle for the Nazi hierarchy. American Sylvester Stallone wants to join in for a chance at escape, even though he knows nothing of the game at all. When the prisoners realize that they are being used, they want to back out of the match. But are forced to play in order to save the lives of some eastern european players who have been pulled from the death camps. It all leads up to the climactic game in Paris. Will the Germans keep ...
