Product Information

The second entry in the Pokémon Ranger series, Shadows of Almia once again finds gamers offering help to people, Pokémon, and nature as they work their way up to the rank of Top Ranger. As always, much of the gameplay is derived from capturing Pokémon creatures by using the stylus to encircle them, and then taking advantage of their unique abilities to complete quests. The various quests entail activities such as dousing forest fires, rescuing stranded people, and delivering packages, and successfully completed missions earn players power-ups and rank advancements. Gamers can only make use of a captured Pokémon's skill once, using the "Poké Assist" for help with capturing another creature, or the "Field Move" for help with environmental challenges. However, there are hundreds of permanent sidekick "Partner Pokémon" from which to choose, including creatures from Pokémon: Diamond and Pokémon: Pearl.

While the purchase and exchange with the seller was positive, I did receive the item with a crack in the hinge that wasn't apparent in the listing. The seller and I surmised this happened during shipping, and they have contacted Canada Post about the matter. Still waiting to hear back if Canada Post will cover any damages. As this was an expensive item, I'm a bit disappointed about that part of things.

    Big Step Up From The Original.

    Major improvement over the initial installment. Capturing now works with a progress bar instead of how many consecutive loops a pokemon requires. This makes for more interesting captures. Different environments, and a longer story, make this game much more enjoyable than the first.

    This game is a must have for any Pokemon fan.

    This game is great. Though I thought the start was slow, it included necessary information for someone new to the series. Pokemon Ranger allows a player to interact with Pokemon in a way they never have before. Instead of just battling with Pokemon, you can travel with them to accomplish exciting tasks and missions. Explore a vast and vibrant world and view Pokemon in their actual habitats. Rather than the normal Pokemon games which only allow you to randomly find a Pokemon, the player gets to experience seeing a Pokemon where they would actually live. This game offers great new features from the first game in the series which allow the player to solve missions using any number of Pokemon. While some Pokemon are necessary to accomplishing tasks on missions I found it fun to try to complete ...

    I've always enjoyed the Pokémon Ranger games and was glad to see this listing. Game was delivered fast and everything in the description was there. Game works great and the case has almost no wear. Will buy from again.

    Best Pokémon game I’ve seen on writing alone

    The writing for the game is the best part, the voice lines are great, the fighting and capturing mechanic is unique, the story is consistent. Overall a 10/10 game
