Born horace''bobby''bowens on april 22nd. The fifth of seven children,born to the late -sam and maggie bowens of 'edisto island' s.c. The same little town that gave us the world greatest bass player'' james jamerson'' of the motown fame. Bobby started his music career at an early age, singing in the church choir at the edisto presbeterian church, USA. And playing drums at record hops while attending jane edwards elementary and baptist hill high school. He migrated to New York city where he honed his talents, playing in numerous bands with hundreds of musicians. He was given his first oppitunity to record by the legandary blues singer ''roy c'' he has backed international artists such as maxine brown,lyodd price,wilson pickett,freddie scott, don covay, and roscoe gordon, as an artist, bobby started as the drummer, writer. And producer for the group ''shades of magic'' which featured ''ron engram'' as lead vocalist at the time, but things really took of when he wrote and was persuaded to sing lead ''my love is in your pocket'' after bearing all the headaces, finiancially and other wise,bobby was persuaded to name the group '' Bobby Bowens and shades of magic''he then recorded his first album''self titled ''Bobby Bowens and s.o.m.released by move records in the UK. ^#^soon he ventured out as a solo artist, recording his second album titled '' let's do it all over again''. followeed by sensational single''sweet love-so good'' he then wrote and produced ''feel so good and hurt so bad'' for chas. Sc legendary jock''frankie the big bopper''. he then wrote and produced ''one of the first anti crack cocaine songs for artist a.k. wells with ''crack cocaine is a killer'' after a breif layof he came back with album number 3 ''it's all about love'' which gave us such romantic best sellers ssuch as ''makin luv in the bath tub, good, stealin luv, and affection. He then relocated to the sunshine state to the city of Tampa. He then released album,''great great woman'' dedicated to every woman on planet earth. That such hits as,''doin it on the beach,rock me, and lovin on borrowed time his latest release is real chart topper ''the rump shakers '' released in may of 07 and already have 4 songs on the southern soul chart,one at number 1. and one at number 5 on the Japanese charts. This is the bomb. 1.bobby-- wishes for in the future? a.a European and Japan tour. 2.what bobby enjoys most? A.spending time with family and friends. 3.favorite tv.shows.
