    Another Great MOTORCYCLE Adventure

    Same cast and different places, quite a rushed trip for the first half because of the schedule they had to maintain to make certain connection, they were not enjoying it as much. Great scenery and wonderful comradery between a couple of friend on the second ride of a lifetime. A rude awakening to the effect that AIDs and HIV were and are still having in the world. Leaves you wanting more.

    LONG WAY DOWN

    had to get "DOWN" after watching LONG WAY ROUND. my husband and i did some limited "motorcycle adventuring" in the US southwest back 60s thru early 80s (BSA, and later GOLDWING). there is no other way to really experience the country (and the people) than on motorcycle..it is extraordinary! we both really enjoyed both documentaries and only wish "ROUND" and "DOWN" were longer and more detailed! where "ROUND" was paced better (more relaxed, better time allowances) "DOWN" was very tightly scheduled timewise due to the guys other commitments so they seemed to be behind schedule, slightly stressed and "pushing" continually. that is the only negative i can muster. otherwise, the documentary gives an excellent overall flavor/taste of two fairly regular guys on bikes leaving most of constructed ...

    Long Way Down

    At first it appears that this trip is going to be diluted by the business of producing a video of their adventure. But the love of motorcycles and the spirit of adventure within not only Ewin and Charlie, but of the entire crew, prevails. What an adventure!!! Makes you want to go out and ride. Great for motorcyclist and non-motorcycist alike. "Long Way Round" was a well done, original, brillant concept come to life. "Long Way Down" loses nothing as a sequel to that adventure. Plus its a lot more fun watching the DVD version as opposed to the TV series which is too fragmented by commercial breaks. Remember to crank the surround sound for the excellent, well chosen, African themed music. Don't forget to watch the extra segment about Ewin and Charlie's work with UNICEF involving ...

    Long Way Down, DVD

    Long Way Down is a real life adventure of two real life guys with an incredibly uncluttered view of their experiences during their ride from the tip of Scotland to the tip of South Africa on BMW motorcycles. The places they traveled and the cultures they mingled with enlightened and excited me as no screenplay could possibly do. A genuine grass roots adventure packed with interesting details of life's hardships and the beauty of cultures and scenery found only by living and traveling off the beaten path. The story was exciting and constantly changing and the photography was breath taking. I strongly recommend this three DVD set to anyone who possesses a curiosity for the rest of the world's cultures and remarkable beauty.

    Long Way Down

    If you enjoyed "Long Way Round", you sure to enjoy "Long Way Down". Ewan and Charlie are such a great team that the video is both extremely interesting and funny at the same time. Their travels from Scotland to Cape Town in South Africa is amazing. It makes me want to saddle up and head for the roads on the motorcycle. Wonderful photography, running commentary, great people. Just an outstanding video. The only problem? Can't wait for the next one.... how about Alaska to South America.....

More to explore :
