Product Information

Based on the 1986 arcade hit, Bubble Bobble is a one- or two-player game in which players guide a pair of running, jumping, bubble-shooting dinosaurs through 125 levels of non-scrolling platform action. When a bubble makes contact with a monster, the monster floats upward, and players must pop the bubble to kill the enclosed creature, thereby revealing an item for bonus points.

Based on the 1987 arcade game, Rainbow Islands has players guide Bubby through seven levels on his quest to stop the evil Krabo. Armed with the power to create rainbows, Bubby will climb obstacles and destroy enemies and level-ending bosses with his powerful stars. After defeating each boss and claiming the Rainbow Diamond for each stage, you will have saved the Rainbow Sea from Krabo's treachery.

An excellent 2 in 1 arcade games
The US release of Bubble Bobble Featuring Rainbow Islands is a 2 games in 1 game containing: Original Bubble Bobble and Rainbow Islands. It is an exclusive US release (no Japanese release if I remember correctly) by Acclaim. What you get is 2 arcade perfect translation games on 1 disc! For Bubble Bobble, it's a 1986 smash arcade hit by Taito. Rainbow Islands is not as good in my opinion. I would just pick up this game for Bubble Bobble alone. Don't miss this one if you are a Bubble Bobble fan.

A True Classic
I remember playing this on NES in '92, but when I found out it was on the Saturn, I made sure I bought it. Bubble Bobble is very addictive and you will enjoy playing it for hours. It is also available for Game Gear. This version is great as well and you get passwords to continue your progress. You should be able to get this for a decent price, but it depends. I have seen it go as much as $30 on here.
