About this product

Product Information

In Microsurgeon a tanker has crashed and is releasing noxious vapors, infecting the immune systems of nearby onlookers. A full-scale medical emergency is underway as victims of the deadly poison are being rushed to Xenon Medical Center, where you are part of a team of expert microsurgeons and technicians. Working against the clock, you must perform operation after operation, restoring to health as many patients (up to 197) as you can.

Your tool for working on each patient is a Robot Probe, which you maneuver via remote control through the intricate maze that is the human body. You'll guide the probe through circulatory and lymphatic systems in order to reach areas in need of medical assistance, such as the brain, heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, gall bladder, spleen and intestine. Be careful to keep the probe completely inside arteries, veins and lymph or roaming white blood cells will attack. The probe moves at two speeds: normal and faster.

To eliminate cholesterol buildup, gall stones, kidney stones, tapeworms, tar deposits and tumors from your patient, you must shoot ultrasonic rays at the infected areas. A shot of antibiotics gets rid of bacteria while a dose of aspirin eliminates viruses. Life-threatening conditions should take priority over minor ailments.

Consult the status chart often to monitor the condition of the patient's major organs as well as the patient's overall condition. Possible conditions include Good, Fair, Serious and Terminal. If you let two or more organs become terminal, your time has run out. When you complete an operation, head for an exit (eye, mouth, nose or ear) in order to collect your fee.

The status chart also tells you how much energy your Robot Probe has in reserve. There are ways to add energy to your reserve, such as eliminating certain viruses and other ailments with only one shot. If your power runs dangerously low prior to you completing your surgical tasks, race for an exit.

You can play Microsurgeon by yourself or share operating duties with a friend. One player guides the probe while the other administers treatments. When playing solo, you may wish to use one controller to guide the probe and the other to administer treatments.

It was a game he played as a teen and it's all he wanted for Fathers Day. It was a hit!

  • Imagic Microsurgeon For The Intellivision Review

This is an interesting game. I bought it because I wanted to add an complete game box, game, instruction manual and keypad inserts to compliment the colection that I have. When I first bought this game back in the early eighties, I played it a few times but was not able to figure out how to score big points with this title. It was around 1987, that my younger sister showed me how she played it. With out even trying to warm up over a few games, she scored like 3 million point in her first try. This was and still is very impressive and I still like to play this game just to remember how to score so many point so quickly in a game.

  • Old Intellivision Classic

Had not played since the 80s. One of my favorite games for the system. :)

  • fun but simple

it's a lot more linear than I thought it would be. replay value isn't all that high since you have the same map all the time. it's ok, but i guess i had higher expectations (even for an old game)
