Great Seller!!! CD was in NM Condition as described. Although, I would not say the CD is Like New as in the Main Description, as Like New should be mentioned only for Spotless CDs like when the Original Shrink Wrap was just removed, the CD was definitely NM, and played with no problems, so all is good. Price was fair for a hard to find Title. Packaged Securely and Fast Shipping.

After receiving burned CDs from unscrupulous eBay sellers in the past, purchasing discs always makes me feel uneasy. But this transaction was absolutely perfect! It was unopened (it still had the flair stickers on the shrink wrap from 1994) and completely untouched by a human (until I touched it, that is.) The packaging was multi-layered and exquisitely protected. Fast shipping and great communication were the cherries on top. I couldn't be happier. Thanks, therockdoctor78. You DO ROCK!

John Mayall - Bluesbreakers with Eric Clapton / Mfsl Gold CD Original Master Recording This review is for the mastering and the sound quality of thIs product only, not for the music itself. (The music deserves five stars too.) About the mastering: this classic blues-rock album was recorded and mixed on analogue equipment of course and published first in 1966 on monoaural LP in England. The stereo mix is applied for the later 1969 stereo LP release and this was created from the original 1966 mono mix. Mofi used the stereo mix for the master recording and I feel joyful for it and satisfied because I prefer listening rock music in stereo (where available). Some listener may say that is not correct because they consider the original mono mix to be authentic for a master recording release ...

  • Much more detail and clarity

I know the album well, I've been listening to it since 1967. Lately I have become re-obsessed with the "Beano Tone" and did a deep dive into available information. It was recommended to me to seek out this direct-from-master-tapes version of the album to highlight some facts about the recording. With careful listening it is possible to hear that the magic tone was very much influenced by the recording environment and in fact Clapton himself did not get this sound when playing live. There are live recordings to illustrate that as well. You can hear how the amp was pointed at the wall and covered with blankets to control the volume somewhat since Clapton refused to turn it down for the session. This is the sound we have come to revere. A lot of detail was inaudible on previous versions of ...
