    Lucky to find this part at all

    Parts for a 1980's Lada Niva can be difficult to find and I was very pleased to find this hard-to-get part for a good price. I believe these handles are of modern manufacture and they are not of the greatest quality. The seller was honest about the quality and warned that the chrome plating flakes off and recommended you get them re-chromed. I haven't seen any flaking of the chrome yet, but I found that a heavy coat of chrome plating had choked the threads on the mounting studs. I tried chasing the threads but my die jammed and the stud unscrewed from the handle when I tried to remove the die. This turned out to be for the best because I could replace the stud with a length of M5 all-tread Loctited into the hole. Unlike on my original handle, the pillars on which the studs are mounted ...
