Heavy hitch = heavy duty = high load rating = happy camper! :-)
Heavy at around 20 lbs, but this makes it heavy duty with a higher load rating. I installed this to my Hidden Hitch brand hitch, mounted on my 98 Toyota Sienna van (hitch coupler sits back about 3 inches back of the outer edge of the bumper), and this extension just clears the bumper. I have another unknown brand hitch on my other 98 Sienna, the hitch sits back only about 1" in comparison, and this extension correspondingly extends about 3" outwards, which for me is too much. So it just depends on your particular hitch and measurements. My plan is to use this along with my motorcycle carrier to haul my bike around, so I needed at least an additional 4" rise to clear curbs and speed bumps.
