  • Awesome rifle scope for the money

This is an excellent rifle scope. It is my first Athlon scope, and I considered many other brands. But the reviews I read were overwhelmingly good, so I decided to try one. I must say, this scope looks and feels like a much more expensive scope than it is. It's very clear and easy to work with. The turret clicks are the most positive I've ever encountered. The eye relief is very close to 4 inches and is the longest eye relief of any other scope I have. I liked this scope so much I bought another one just like it. Then I bought a Ares ETR UHD 4.5-30x56, and then I bought 3 Midas Tac 6-24x50's. I was able to buy all of these for a very low price. I'm as tickled as I can be with these scopes, and I can't imagine anyone not being happy with them - especially the Ares series.

  • A well-executed scope design

Compared to the Cronus BTR, the glass is not quite as clear, but is still extremely clear for basically half the price. Power ring, parallax, eyepiece, and illumination ring all adjust smoothly and easily, and have no slop at all. The reticle is the "busy" Christmas-tree style, but it does not interfere with the sight picture, even at the high end of magnification. Turret clicks are clear and precise with no slop, and adjustments are measured properly according to my ballistics chart. Illumination at the high end does not cause issues, and it does illuminate the entire reticle. I wish it had slightly more elevation adjustment, as my rifle bottomed out at 800 yards. Have to change to a 20MOA rail to get it out to 1000+ yds, which the rifle it is mounted upon is easily capable. Overall, very happy with the purchase.

  • Just got it.

Just got it. Have only mounted on rifle. Looks like it is easy. Made in China, so we'll see.
