    Great Book!!! But didn't come with board as promised.

    The good...I love the book. I bought this originally more than 20 years ago to teach my own kids how to play chess. I reordered it to teach my grandkids. I was excited and the book is still fantastic! The bad...the description said that the book came with the teaching chess board, but alas, it did NOT. the board that came with the book was great! Kids could see at a glance how the pieces move. Disappointed in not receiving it.

    Accurate

    I bought this for my 11 year old daughter. It is easy to read and helps a beginner get started. A little short on strategy but that is appropriate for the target reader. A good value and a good first book on chess for a child. Well diagramed.

    An excellent way to learn chess!

    An easy to read guide that will have anyone, adults or children, playing chess in no time! The text is easy to ready and we especially liked the illustrations. The complete set comes with book and chess set. We bought the set for our children, but found it renewed our interest in chess as well. Just the basics, but it's the best way to learn.
