Item in great condition especially for its age. All buttons work. Would definitely buy from this seller again. Side note, the carrier Intelcom Express said the package was delivered and took a picture of my building from the outside... really.... It was not received... I was about the advise the seller but that day, Canada Post put it in my mailbox with a note. Looks like it was lost in transit for a bit or something. Not the sellers fault.

Great DVD recorder
This DVD recorder works great. I did have to order the Protron remote afterwards though, because without a remote it won't let you do the steps that need to be taken. Once I got the remote and googled online how this recorder worked, it works great. I recorded all my 38 VHS tapes already onto DVD and then on my computer windows 7, I made movies out of them and then recorder them with windows DVD maker to make them compatible with DVD players. I made copies without the dvd maker, just straight from desktop to DVD-R but then they will only play back on a computer or laptop.This DVD recorder works great. Protron, the usual stuff
This dvd recorder is about the usual thing I have seen. The designer have over engineered it by trying to make it do so many things for you automatically that the operation has become very complex. (Just like every other piece of home electronics equipment I own) The instruction manuel is written in the same hard to understand manner that I have become accustomed to. Someday perhaps, designers will realize that too many features spoil the recorder, but until they do we all have to get a degree in "Home Electronics". Now for the better news. The picture quality seems to be good to my untrained eye, so I am happy with that. The remote control has too many buttons on it for me to be comforatable with, but it is not easily lost due to its size. If you want to do only what the designers think ... Inexpensive unit that serves its DVR purpose.
Bought this DVR spcifically to convert my old VHS library onto DVDs. DVR performs its function, but the interface/menu/remote is not intuitive and the product manual is not too helpful. Found it also interesting that when I used my own RCA cables to connect to my TV the picture was B&W. Only after using the supplied RCA cables did the picture become color. Since I am not really using the DVR as my main video output I really don't care. Have to admit that the price was unbeatable and even with its quirks I am satisfied.Bought this DVR spcifically to convert my old VHS library onto DVDs. Good budget dvd recorder
Since 2 of my vcrs have broken down and fixing them isn't worth it, I decided to try a dvd recorder. This unit is great for recording shows off tv using a timer much like the old vcr. I have to warn those interested that the instructions are much more complicated than the old vcr and it works on military time so if you don't understand 1800 hours you need to learn it. Programming isn't as simple as vcr programming either. If you get past all this it works quite well making nice clear high quality recordings that are a vast improvement over a vcr. I also recommend buying some dvd+rw discs so that you can try recording and if you goof up then erase them and try again. After you get it down then use the dvd+r discs. You could almost use this like a dvr to record shows then erase them but you are limited to disc time. I haven't tried the longer record time as I use it mostly to make a standard 2 hour dvd. All in all this is a great value for a good dvd recorder and for the price how can you go wrong?

i bought 3 of them off Ebay within a week, i already had 2 of them from 2005 but they had quit working. Of the three i bought recently only one worked as advertised. I bought one that was still in the box with the original seal still on it unopened and it didnt work so i bought the other 2 units,, of them the next one only would play a few cds but wouldnt recognize and dvds so i opened the next box and it actually works. it is a little glitchy with my remote that came with my new unit in the original box but it does record my home movies to my satisfaction., this working unit looks very good with few to no scratches, the one that played only cds was dusty in the tray and had permanent ink markings for applying the cables and scratches. the one that was in the box was in brand new ... i bought 3 of them off Ebay within a week, i already had 2 of them from 2005 but they had quit working. Of the three i bought recently only one worked as advertised. I bought one that was still in the box with the original seal still on it unopened and it didnt work so i bought the other 2 units,, of them the next one only would play a few cds but wouldnt recognize and dvds so i opened the next box and it actually works. it is a little glitchy with my remote that came with my new unit in the original box but it does record my home movies to my satisfaction., this working unit looks very good with few to no scratches, the one that played only cds was dusty in the tray and had permanent ink markings for applying the cables and scratches. the one that was in the box was in brand new condition.
