    Seems pretty strong.

    I bought this to use as a coal shovel - the rounded edge makes it easier to dig into the pile from the top. Works nicely for that task, but I think it'd also work well in confined spaces in the garden. Thoughtfully they've bent over the edges at the top of the blade so your feet can press down on a flatter, wider surface rather than a narrow edge. I'm happy with it.

    Ok for the price.

    The price reflects the quality of finish. The shaft is held on to the spade head by two pot rivets which gave way second time out. I have since replaced the shaft with a new hardwood one and now have a reasonable little spade. Don't expect quality for £9 but if you're prepared to put a decent shaft on it things will be ok.

    spade head bent in half!!

    This spade looked good value when it arrived and i was keen to try it, i got my metal detecting gear together and headed off. All was brilliant for about 10 digs and then the spade head folded in two, the soil was not particularly tough and i had hardy put much weight on it. i bent it back and got about 3 more digs out of it before it collapsed again. The shaft joint to the spade was starting to creak a bit too. Cheap spade but not want you want when your out detecting. ideal if you are buying it for a kid maybe
