    Bolt hole thread repair

    The kit repaired the bolt hole threads just fine! The only issue I noticed was in the listing the seller shows an image of a four-flute tap. The kit that was delivered came with a three-flute tap! This may be a minor detail to some buyers, however, for my application and purchase, I would care to get what is pictured in the listing. Still a good value, though!

    Works as advertised - saved me big bucks

    Used this to repair a faucet handle with stripped threads. Since I don't care to do my own plumbing this saved me at least $150 - having to have an otherwise perfectly good faucet replaced. Heard of this product years ago but never had the opportunity to use it until now. Excellent!

    1/4-20 helicoil thread repair kit

    The Helicoil kit was a good choice for the application I wanted to use it for. I have plastic rods that I wanted 1/4-20 threads in, they are to hold a coper rod inserted in the end of the 1" diameter rod and the threads are in constant use. To make the threads hold up better I put the Helicoil inserts in the plastic for the threads to last longer.

    Dangerous Packaging

    Good - the product is very good for the problem it solves, and with typical Heli-Coil quality. Bad - the hard plastic clamshell packaging is extremely hard to remove. Tin snips seem to be the best tool for this particular package. Thousands of people each year have to go to the emergency room for injuries from attempting to open clamshell packaging. Many companies have abandoned this mode of packaging because of the injuries it can cause. Heli-Coil would do well to abandon this method of packaging.
