Singer 44s works great for heavy material.
My wife has an old sewing machine that I already knew wouldn't handle the tarps, sailcovers, dodger, bimini and othe projects for the sailboat. This machine goes through the outdoor fabric with ease. I did need to study up on sewing since my last time was 25 years ago. The machine I bought from these folks is like new, barely used. I am pleased as can be with the value I received!

all in all im pleased with the machine.
i have found the machine to be a little difficult to figure out the needle position and the different stitches. i have sent for a manual. it should come with one. the machine sews very nice. i like the looks of it and it is light to carry. quiet and easy to thread. i think i prefer to have a computerized machine.

Still in the box new. I have had many machines, trust me-if you sew a lot, skip the fancy and get a heavy duty. I tried all the stitches and made a buttonhole, perfect. This one sits still on my sewing table, unlike my light weight quilting machine. Easiest auto threader of any I have had. Great features. Happy!

Time for new sew machine
I’ve had mine for over 22 years which it’s time for new one. Wanted to get better kind; including heavy duty types of fabric. After I started to use it; I absolutely am in ❤️ with it and been making maskes. And will explore more with other stuff... Best money I have ever spent! sewed through 5 layers of outdoor canvas! small learning curve! But so far it has sewn everything I throw at it? my other machines, would not take that thickness( plus I used heavy outdoor thread! Yes I would highly recommend this machine.
