Pump failure by corrosion
Good pump system for small/medium ponds & pools. Initially had one professionally installed and it ran without difficulty. However, after two years, the pump leaked - the motor shaft corroded at the pump junction despite the motor continuing to run. The apparatus was not unduly exposed to weather and the failure was disappointing. I purchased and re-installed the same motor/pump item (for ease of replacement) - but coated the shaft with WD40 and I plan to watch it carefully. Excellent value, and a great little outdoor pump.
This pump replaced an outdoor aquaflo pump for my large fountain. Works great and is substantially quieter than my previous pump. I did not give it 5 stars simply because it did not come with an actual plug, which I thought it did based on the original description. I actually had to wire an outdoor grounded plug into the pump, and the paper directions that came with the pump for wiring the plug contradicted the wiring instructions on the sticker label that was on the pump. Followed the sticker label and everything went smoothly.This pump replaced an outdoor aquaflo pump for my large fountain. Works great and is substantially quieter than my previous pump. Pump leaked right out of the box. Apparently manufacturer failed to tighten the screws holding the volute together. Once tightened pump was OK. Otherwise good pump.

Solid, good pump
Very reliable. I believe the last one I have lasted 6 years, running 24 hours a day. Probably would have lasted longer if I had an overhang to protect it. I think this one may be a little louder than the last, but not bad.
