    Not a winner

    John Prine has been responsible for some great music down the years. German Afternoons has the feel of someone who needs to get an album out to fulfil a contract. His heart just doesn't seem to be in it. The songs are no more than okay, with very few great Prine moments. If you don't own a Prine CD, German Afternoons isnt the place to start. For completists only.
