I've used the string trimmer a few times now over the weeks. The only issue to speak of is it is a touch tricky on cold start, but after that it runs like a champ again and hot starts without issue. Was simple to bolt on. So 11 bucks has extended the life of this homelite string trimmer and I'd recommend provided you've got good compression and spark.

HELLO< i used to buy the rebuild kits for the home-lite weed whackers in the past. But now i have bought two of these carbs and try work perfect.the kits are very cheap to buy but you are never really sure if the units going to work after you rebuild it,what i do is buy a kit for 2 dollars then also buy a new carb.i put the new one on ,then take my time to mess around rebuilding the old one,if it works great if not i only wasted some time and 2 bucks .

When you buy a carburetor, you expect the gasket that goes between the intake and the carb to come as well. This is what makes or breaks the purchase of these carbs. You know very well that the old gasket gets stuck to the carb and cannot be reused.

My Homelite weed whacker would not maintain high RPM. I cleaned the jets, and bathed the carb in carb cleaner. No change. Did some research and this is a very common problem. People recommended a carb kit. Then I saw people talking about, "just buy a new carb for 13 bucks". What did I have to lose? It didn't come with the gasket so I carefully filleted the old one off the old carb with a utility knife (order a new gasket). Bolted the new carb on and it runs like new. This is a great fix, and for under 15 bucks. Could not be happier.
