    #1 in a field of 1

At this stage of the game Ilford has the field virtually to itself with regard to medium-speed black-and-white film based on "conventional" technology, at least in the premium sector of the market, now that Plus-X and Agfapan 100 are no more. (There may be something from Fomapan, I don't use this brand). No matter – FP4 Plus is an excellent film and delivers everything that could be expected from a product of this kind. Value for money? It's certainly not cheap but is affordable, above all of course one should applaud Ilford for staying the market at all!

  • Excellent medium speed film

For me this film is, as it always has been, an excellent medium speed film. It has a wide range of applications and when developed in different developers for different times can produce different creative effects. My all time favourite.

  • B & W film

I have used Ilford over many years, 35mm & Medium format, which I have processed myself. I have always found it a very easy going, at all stages, through to printing. For many years I have Digital, but now find myself back with film, ( Medium Format ) which can still processed, yourself or online processors, scanning to disk, for ease of manipulation & printing, very stable, which I would recommend to anybody.

  • Well known brand

Just getting back into photography after 20 years and always wanted a MAMIYA RB67 camera so put up a darkroom ( Downstairs toilet ) and now thanks to the person who I got the film chemicals off I'm back into it, Ilford fp4 has always been the film I have used.

  • Ilford FP4 plus

It’s a great British classic black and white film, known for good sharpness and tonal balance. Works great with almost any developer, just do not do a pre-wash before developing it as it could end up with strange markings on the negative. Works best for portraits and landscapes!
