A great read, funny, but not quite as funny as the film!
I bought this book after seeing the film of the book on TV. I found the film absolutely hilarious, there were lots of laugh out loud moments.The plot is,as the title says,a true tale of the authors journey round Ireland, hitching and hiking,with a fridge on a hand cart.He did this to win a one hundred pound bet,though the fridge cost something like one hundred and thirty pounds! On the way he meets lots of interesting people,and becomes a local radio celebrity.I enjoyed the story a great deal,and found it funny, but perhaps not quite as hilarious as the film (maybe it would have been better to read the book first?) Hence 4 stars.I bought this book after seeing the film of the book on TV.
