    Great album, for all the f**d-up kids

    I already have several sonic creations by Thurston, Kim and pals. It'll take more listens to fully appreciate it, the best albums tend to. I look forward to getting to know this CD, it's going to be worth it.

    Tell the Nurse to keep waiting

    Continuing to live up to their name in sound, if perhaps, no longer in body, Sonic Youth have, in Sonic Nurse delivered one of the finest albums of their seminal 23-year career. Being three tracks and 15 minutes longer than its predecessor, Murray Street, and not dissimilar in its melodious appeal, in many ways Sonic Nurse offers more of the same. Again refraining from the wanton experimentalism that has peppered much of their work since Washing Machine, Sonic Nurse mixes walls of feedback with smooth basslines and guitar hooks that range from the thunderous to delightfully deft. The 17th album from the ever inventive quartet, Sonic Nurse finds the band refining their three-pronged guitar attack in favour of subtlety, mixing upbeat rhythms with guitar lines that seduce before threatening ...

    SONIC YOUTH'S BEST ALBUM, PERIOD

    I've steadily been listening my way through all of SY's albums, and it seems I've purchased their best album till last. Even though Sonic Youth are a delecate bunch and their music isn't to everyone's taste buds, 'Nurse' is even for them 'beyond the realm of music', a musicology of grunge, a cacophony of escapism. SONIC NURSE IS SONIC YOUTH'S GREATEST ALBUM. 10/10
