From a childs music memory to an adults music awakening.
I'm 61 years old now but some of their hits would occasionally play in my music oriented mind. So, I got it. What took me so long? From a child and a transister radio to an adult with a good stereo system is quite a music memory experience. These guys did a good job in the studio. They have some very good tunes. Some of these songs deserve to played on todays radio once in a while. Excellent driving tunes.I'm 61 years old now but some of their hits would occasionally play in my music oriented mind. And, to be able to purchase this CD from Micky Dolenz Direct, signed by Micky Dolenz himself was the next best thing to being able to meet the man himself. This one CD will be kept amongst my Monkees memorabilla collection unplayed and treasured, as I have other Monkees CD's & records to play, and still keep search for new ones with songs I do not have. The Monkees 'Works' and 'Music Box' are along my next purchases.Since about the age of 9, I have had such a passion for the Monkees and their music. Its an odd collection; it feels like it wants to be an “ultimate singles collection “ but totally overlooks singles from instant replay and changes but has their reunion singles - except one. It feels more like Micky’s greatest hits. Even davy is on only a handful, mike 2, peter 1. What it does prove is how powerful and woefully underrated micky is as the timeless voice of a generation. Its a rhino collection so you know its gonna sound great. The Monkees tv series was on when I was a little girl. I always loved to watch them and I love their music, but I was too young to be into records and such. By the time I was a teen, I was into other artists so I never really owned a Monkee's album. Earlier this year I got a chance to see Davy Jones in Orlando Fl. I was thrilled. This particular cd was for sale there, for a steep price. So I thought I would look for it on Ebay. Lo and behold, it was there and I snatched it up!!!The Monkees tv series was on when I was a little girl. Brought me back to 1960s :))))
The plastic case had some small issues when trying to open it but with a bit of tape it was good again. The case also contains booklets of info and pictures of the Monkees. They were in great condition. The CD looks and sounds great! I felt like I was 15 again....and I am 71....still havin' fun. :)
