    "Beauty And The Beat" Album Is The Go-Go's Best Ever,

    The first and foremost successful album from The Go-Go's, as recorded with that vibe in New York City. Catchy and engaging list of songs, with clear, crisp and consistent sound throughout, right down drummer Gina Schock's spot on rhythm, pacing and timing.

    My favorite album of the 1980's

    I remember the first time I heard this album back in the Fall of 1981 (I was 20 at the time). Quite simply, it blew me away. From the opening drum intro of 'Our Lips Are Sealed,' this album offers a string of catchy songs that are well-written, well-sung and well-performed. Although 'Our Lips..' was, deservedly, the first single and arguably the best song of the album, the first six songs could have been issued as singles - they're that good. The Go-Go's represented the fun that was part of the 'New Wave' of the time and the music encapsulated the energy of the British Invasion/Beach Boys. Later albums by the Go-Go's had several good songs, but they never quite captured the energy, songwriting and musicianship of this wonderful album.

    Beauty and the Beat by Go-Go's (The)

    Excellent. I bought this as an early birthday present to myself, since I will be turning 50, God-willing, this November. This band's music speaks volumes. As a young 21 year old, it represented a different kind of sound. It actually had an optimistic, whimsical feel to it. With this product, I bought it "new" and in the shrink wrap. A very positive purchase. Thanks to all the Go-Go's for making this music a plus in a very uncertain world; especially to Jane.
