Much better than polymer bearing style, but heavy nut
This design is better than polymer bearing style, but the end nut is too heavy because it's solid metal. I substituted a nut that has a small threaded insert molded into a polymer housing to save weight. The polymer nuts also have a nice thread locking feature.

Quality early style piece.....
I was looking for an early style skewer.....steel, enclosed cam style, no plastic, chrome. I consider this style to be stronger, safer and more durable than the current alloy and plastic flip style so prevalent now. Perfect!!

These quick release skewers were just what I needed a great price. The new quick releases or square and would not work in my training stand, I needed the old-school type with a rounded heads. Plus it gave my bike a little bit of chrome to all the black. I am very happy with these quick releases.

Exceptional value for high quality skewers.
These are old school chrome alloy steel skewers that are equivalent to those made by Shimano & Campagnolo. Cro-moly steel is over 2X stronger than aluminum alloy. And, these skewers fasten wheels with much greater strength and security. An exceptional value at around $14 a pair.
