So I soaked the head part only in warm soapy water for about an hour and then constantly swished it about in just warm water, after about 20 mins I was satisfied that there was little or no solid ink still left inside. Got a pad of paper and hey presto I have a brand new (to me) fountain pen. Well worth the bit of work it took to do. Quick delivery and good value.
