Good With An Excellent "Throw In"
An entertaining saga for vampire fans. It follows a long battle between the evil vampire Radu & the heroine out to avenge her friends. Plenty of atmosphere. But the best part of the set is the last disk that is "thrown in" & is a complete movie by itself. Most of it takes place in a very atmospheric club run by a master vampire. Timeless traditional vampire series
I have loved the early movies for many years but never saw the fourth installment or the Vampire Journals. The movies themselves are 80s style horror blood and guts with early era effects but are a comfortable classic style to retreat to if you are looking for something without a lot of plot twists or shocker moments. The final movie, Vampire Journals, was a bit disappointing to me because it was clear the producers were trying to extend the Subspecies line but basically did away with all of the developed characters from the prior four movies in favor of new "modern" vampires (sadly, there are a lot of those movies around and I was looking for something that stayed true to the classic vampire movies, which is the reason I dropped the rating to four stars).Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
