    suspense, spooky, mystery, Collinwood mansion is good setting,

    I was delighted to receive The Beginning collections 1 through 4. I had not seen these since 1966-67 when they were originally on tv, at my parents' house when I was a kid. I was little and I forgot lots of what happened. These refreshed my memory. Even before Barnabas arrived on the scene, Dark Shadows had good main characters, plenty of spooky mystery, suspense. Joan Bennet and Louis Edmonds are both very good actors as well. In the story, one particularly spooky, neat thing is that's David's Mother, Laura is actually a kind of Phoenix. Interesting. Anyway, one should really see the beginning episodes, before vampires and werewolves come about. I ordered collections 5 and 6 (The Beginning) which I will soon have the pleasure to see.

    1st Vampire TV series

    Watching it now as an Adult and not the Hi Schooler I was differs a lot now. However, as a History buff I am enjoying it for that reason...I rushed home from School and watched it everyday. It is amusing because I do not remember the Beginnings only when Jonathan Frid character and Willie entered the show. So I would recommend for its Historical value and amusement for those who loved it back in its day.

    Reaquainted with Dark Shadows

    Reacquainted with Dark Shadows over the lock down last year. I bought this for the appearance of Diana Millay and the Phoenix story line. I had forgotten what a great show this actually was.

    A must have for Dark Shadows fans!

    My brother and I used to rush home to watch this show after school when we were kids. I loved it then, and I love it now. DVD's run beautifully despite the low video quality of 1960's daytime tv.

    Collection 4 (the Beginning) is a must see

    Season /collection 4 is a must see. The story line with Laura Collins return and the Phoenix connection is pretty good. The craziness in the Sam Evans painting and the treacherous ways of the cast is epic.
