Great Compact Rifle Light w/Excellent Ergonomics
The Streamlight TLR RM2 is a direct competitor to the Inforce WMLx but w/o the shortcomings. 1,000 lumens + 10K candelas = more floody, less spotty w/o a really defined center hotspot, so great peripheral situational awareness at the cost of throw. My limited night testing indicates good target detail to at least 50+yds. Body is all aluminum so little fear of breakage (as I've experienced w/several WMLx's) and acts as a heatsink (the RM2's body will get warm after extended use). Switch is very tactile & easy to use w/the extended shelf behind it perfect for resting a thumb w/o activating the light. Choosing between constant-on & momentary-on is easy & intuitive. There is a strobe feature but I haven't used it. Lock-out is great to avoid draining batteries when not in use, just rotate the bezel 90 degrees. I don't use the remote switch, but seems the same as other good Streamlight remote switches I've used in the past. Plenty of attachment accessories are included for the remote switch. Although the Streamlight manual only mentions CR123 batteries, others have stated it works w/16650 rechargeable batteries as well. Minus the remote switch, weight is surprisingly light at 4.5oz. If ergonomics & compactness are more important than maximum throw (if you want more throw, check out the Streamlight HL-X or their HP series) then definitely give the RM2 careful consideration.

Almost perfect!
The rubber cap at the rear of the light pops out very easily. Other than that, it is a great light and I am happy to have made the purchase. The cap won't be too much of a problem for me because I will be using the pressure switch.
