An autobiographical film taken from the experiences of writer-director Rob Moretti, CRUTCH is a coming-of-age tale about a young man's struggle with family problems and substance abuse. David is a teenager whose home life falls apart when his distant father divorces his alcoholic mother, sending her deeper into a booze-fueled stupor. As David attempts to become a pillar of strength to keep his family together, his predatory drama teacher Kenny (Moretti himself) takes advantage of David's weaknesses, seducing and drawing him into an unsavory world of sex and drugs. CRUTCH is a dramatic tale of the confusion of youth and the difficulties in finding oneself.
