    Thought I Knew What to Expect

    Looks just like in the photos. The linkage is rusted and frozen shut. Got it soaking in some penetrating solvent. The ad did not say " Linkage Moves Freely", so I already knew that it would need rebuilding. Had a very difficult time getting the bowls off, the screws were rusted so bad that they were nearly rusted away and very hard to remove. Managed to get 7 of them out but the last one broke off in the body and I will have to drill it out. The butterfly shafts are rusted solid into the base plate and the butterflies are bent up from someone banging on them trying to free them up. Will try soaking it in Vinegar to soften up the rust and hopefully get the shafts out without damaging the base plate. Lesson Learned? If it doesn't say linkage moves freely, expect problems.
