WOW!
I don't think Derwent makes anything that's bad. If they came out with a car, I'd buy it! I've wanted to try out the Inktense line for a while, and the ebay price was well below what I typically see in art stores. I couldn't resist. Most watercolor pencil pigments, when hydrated and allowed to dry, are not permanent. But Inktenses are permanent when dry. This feature makes it easier to put in additional colors on top of the existing pigment (glazing) without disturbing the first layer. There are 72 colors, and every oneof them is brilliant, even when used dry. Derwent Inktense aquarellable pencils are unique and fantastic. Unless I just want an even broader range of colors, I really don't need any other watercolor pencils.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

The pencils and color are wonderful. But the trays to hold them are very flimsy and arrived broken (the tin and box that arrived was fine). Keeping them organized so you can quickly find the ones you want will be difficult without the trays. Takes a little practice
These are not for the faint of heart or impatient artist. The colors on the ends are only vaguely like the color of the pigment. Neither is very much like the color one gets when the pencil is used as watercolor. However the dark colors are strong and make excellent contrasts. There are few pastels or lighter shades and I usually have to either apply a layer of white or use one of my other sets that have wonderful pastels but not the intense darker shades. I like the feel of the pigment spreading on the surface and the size of the pencils for my hand is just right.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Fantastic Colors!
I love these pencils. It is good to make a chart, so you know exactly how each one wil appear. The pencil's color, whether in the pencil or laid down on the paper, isn't anywhere near how it'll look after water is applied. The colors are so rich and, well, intense! Less water to begin with seems to work best, especially if you want to blend.
