Pleasantly surprised (Oh, BUDDY, was I!)
'Just got my order for this player today from the post office, hooked it up and played a movie on it. YOWSA! I've seen other portable DVD players, but this'n TAKES THE CAKE! It's full of features and the best one (for ME, anyhow) is that the picture stays on the built-in screen when the adapter plug is inserted to send video to an external device. Another brand of portable DVD player (and, that'd be a "HUGE" brand name) would blank out the in-board screen if an external device/TV was hooked into the "Video-OUT" plug. Not good for our purposes. Quality seems really great. I should know. I operate many, many different devices having to do with video - 'have for years. Believe me when I say the video and audio quality is just as good as expensive, stand-alone DVD players (non-high def, of course). We bought this for our church video system in order to play video clips from DVD's. And, by still having the on-board screen showing all the time, we can cue up where we want to and then switch the video projector's input to the portable player after pressing "play/pause." Sweet! 'Just like having a mini-video center in with our computer and video projector system. If this might be your application, too, I'd say GO FOR IT! 'Can't beat the price . . . . anywhere!
