    First- after buying this item for $89 I noticed the seller bumped their price for identical items to $169. Then they waited a full 6 days after receiving payment to ship the item, when I complained they blamed the USPS (despite them shipping late) and told me to "request a refund if i wasn't happy". I waited another week past the 'expected delivery date' and when it still didn't arrive I requested a refund, which the seller has STILL not approved. I would absolutely NOT recommend this seller.

    Awesome. This is an HP Smart Array P420 contoller for HP Proliant servers. It works great with Windows server and Linux servers. It does not support Windows 10 or 11 because it is a server SAS controller , not a desktop.

    These p420i work perfectly in g10 micros...

    These p420i work perfectly in g10 microservers. Increased i/o ( tested with fio 512mb x 8 threads) on ubuntu 24 by more than 25x on random writes by using 256k stripe 32 sectors per track and ssd fastpath disabled. Though unsupported by HP I find this to be an incredible improvement, and I would buy these again.

    Good RAID card for HP G8/G7 servers

    Decent RAID card for HP G8/G7 servers. Good performance and functionality. Often buy them to upgrade hp g7 servers. The only thing you must remember that they are designed to work with hp servers only othervise you may get hang during boot and at list will not be able to attach boot volume to them.
