    so-so

    not a bad movie, but not a really good one either. if it's a rainy day with nothing to do, this will keep you entertained, it's a story about inner city gangs and the terrible condition of the US educational system, and how one teacher overcomes it.

    Inspirational

    This is a true story of a teacher facing an inner city class of high schoolers from different ethnic groups. At first the students are divided and do not trust or even like those different from them. The teacher starts the writing into journals each day and they discover how much alike they really are. Every school teacher who gets discouraged should early have this movie. It can also be a teaching tool for kids in their teens. I had a problem at first with the bad language but soon realized that, hey, it’s what you here today.

    Phenomenal

    I have been working in the school system well over sixteen years in a predominantly white school district. Although, I am African American, I introduced this movie to another teacher as a point of interest. She and her students watched the movie together. She also, shared the same sentiments as I did about the movie, and so, during our lunch break, it was suggested to our Director of Curriculum that perhaps this movie be shown in both Sociology & Psychology classes; she was open to the suggestion, especially since our district is becoming more diverse in its student population. Thanks Ebay, for making it so affordable.

    Amazing story based on the real life of a Los Angeles high school teacher. Powerful messages, shocking truths, inspiring devotion to help truly at-risk teens. Very well acted, Hillary Swank did an awesome job!
