    TV Ears Review

    Works pretty well. The unit I purchased was used and had been stored for a while which I think caused the unit to have a degree of bass-ey sound. This was not the manufacturer’s problem! Also the unit does not have a very good range. The headset has to have a line of sight view of the base unit to work. Further when out of range, the unit produces noise rather than muting off. Also, this is my second pair. The first pair only lasted less than 2-years. The volume control that is naturally used a lot to turn the unit on and off appears to have gone bad. All in all still a good unit that serves a good purpose. Could be made more reliably.

    I put the headset on the charging cradle...

    I put the headset on the charging cradle Saturday night and Sunday morning tried it out to see how well it worked. It only worked for less than a minute a then no sound but some faint staic. I'm assuming the batteries aren't holding a full charge. I will try again today after charging again Sunday night. Hope it works better this time.

    Good and bad.

    I have had several of these over the years. They function very well. My hearing is very bad and I have $5000 hearing aids but for TV these are better. The bad about these is they all eventually fail structurally. The bows will eventually break down near the electronics. If you are handy you can repair them using very thin spring steel (like from an old windup clock spring) across the break secured with electrician tape. Still they are about as good as you can get.

    good quality, but digital might be better

    tv ears analog is an acceptable alternative to the ear muff type i had before. the ear buds do annoy me after an hour or so but the sound quality is excellent. the infra red signal is line of sight, so you can't go to the kitchen or bathroom and expect to continue to hear the tv. overall, the ears are good.

    Saved my mom & dad's marriage!

    My dad ask me to find him some kind of device to hear the TV better. He was driving my mom nuts with the TV being so loud. He is 86 & wears hearing aids & I felt a one ear device would not be right for him because he has trouble with background noises. He loves his "TV Ears" & said it has brought peace to their house. They both love the fact you can mute the TV & he's still able to hear it through the TV Ears. He also likes that he doesn't have to remove his hearing aids. Very easy set up! Great product! My dad gives them 5 stars! :)
