The egg is very light for its size - as best as I can tell, it appears to be made of a hollow, frosted glass, though I'm not entirely sure. Translucent when held closely to a bright light. Includes a small hand-typed not dating the egg to 1879. Also includes a small clear crystal dish to hold the egg, though I am not sure if this is original to the piece or a later addition.”
