    "Inexpensive alternative and still versatile choice"

    There are lots of Canon cameras in the Elph series. I think this is around the second -third generation. The sd200,300,400 are all the same body size and use the same waterproof case. They are all similar in features just have increased mp rating in each. The sd400 takes a sd or mm card but not a HI DEF one. Size of the camera; 3 and1/4x2x3/4" make it a true 'compact' "point and shoot" as they call most all brands of auto focus digital cameras, I think. It has a nice silver finish that seem to resist wear pretty well. Not sure but most of these have not been produced for many years so time attests to this cameras durability factor. It also easily loads pictures to your computer just by plugging in a single cable and it auto loads the program for the camera,to instantly view or send ...

    THIS CAMERA WAS PURCHASED TO REPLACE AN IDENTICAL ONE THAT WAS LOST. THIS MODEL, EVEN THOUGH OUTDATED BY NEWER TECHNOLOGY, IS VERY CONVENIENT TO TRAVEL WITH AND PRODUCES VERY GOOD PHOTOS AND VIDEOS. UNFORTUNATELY, WHEN THIS CAMERA WAS RECEIVED THE POWER ZOOM FEATURE WAS NOT OPERATING. OTHERWISE, WORKS AS ADVERTISED. .
