About this product

Product Information

Using his knowledge of acupuncture for good and evil, Dr. Baian considers himself an asset to his community. He is a murderer, but he claims to take money only for killing wicked people. Set during the Edo period in Japan, this series takes place largely in the streets, capturing a sense of the culture and the people (geisha, samurai, ninjas, and merchants) that colored that era. This collection includes all four volumes of the series based on the stories of Shotaro Ikenami.

    Great series, a must for Watanabe fans

    Acupuncturist by day, principled assassin by night, Ken Watanabe is compelling in this series set in Edo period Japan. The series is shot beautifully---the settings and costumes carefully thought out. The stories are well-crafted and the characters interesting---not least Ken's sidekick, a toothpick craftsman who helps him set up his assignments.
