It's made from some type of 'plastic/nylon/polymer' - it seems to be fairly strong. It works great for cups, but not quiet as well for disposable cardboard cups. It fits into the dash area nicely - but fitment could probably be improved with the inclusion of some type of magnet system, or sticky back pads. The price of the cup holder was okay; but I actually think they are overpriced. Nevertheless; "Received, As Described!"
