20volt stronger than 18
I've been using a bunch of the 18v tools for 6-7 years. Batteries mostly dead even newer ones. None of the tools broke other than sawzall which I use a lot and roughly. Decided to transition over to 20v. The ones I have are noticeably stronger. The charger that came with combo took forever to charge batteries, even the small ones. Don't like that. Bought rapid charger which charges timewise like the old 18v one. Shouldn't have to buy a special charger to keep working on job. Sawzall will cut a 4x4 with rough cut demolition blade in nothing flat. Don't like that the blade holder sticks out so far. Hard to find a spot to push down to make cut quicker without putting your fingers in harms way but guess not really supposed to do that. Hammer drill doesn't come with a rotating front grip to aid in controlling and pushing on drill. Never saw a hammer drill without that feature. Manual says to hold on to bottom of battery pack with your free hand. Somebody who never used a hammer drill wrote that. Also the hammer drill, in fact all the tools are lighter in weight than the old 18v ones. Hope that isn't an indicator of quality. Only used them for 3-4 weeks so hard to give a good accurate accounting of them. Act stronger and lighter which is nice as far as using them long term. If I get 6-7 years from them I'll be satisfied. Batteries as always the biggest let down. Lithium should do better than nicads. I would recommend but no extra handle on hammer drill bugs me. Haven't tried circular saw yet. 18v one was really too weak for much use. Hope 20 v is stronger. I like porter cable for their quality to price ratio. I worked the 18v ones pretty hard so we will see if the 20v ones are as good.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

I have not yet used the saw,,, The impact driver is good,,,, The drill is a different story,, There is something wrong with it,,, The gears grind, Makes a horrible noise,, I'll just buy a "bare tool drill to replace it,, I am not one for shipping returns.
