Synopsis
In July 1918, as the carnage of World War I continued, President Woodrow Wilson deployed US troops to join other Allied forces in civil war-ravaged Russia. Ostensibly a mission to guard tsarist military supplies and the Trans-Siberian railway, the true purpose of the Allied intervention was to help topple the nascent Bolshevik government. from the frigid port city of Archangel to Lake Baikal to Vladivostok - the US troops encountered fierce resistance from Red Army units, partisans and peasants. Using previously classified official records and the letters and diaries of Americans who served there, the author describes the suffering of the hundreds of American soldiers who fought and died in sub-zero conditions, both in combat and from disease. This book describes in detail the experiences of the American doughboys who fought in this little-known campaign - a tragically misguided military action that established a legacy of distrust that defined US-Soviet relations for the next seven decades., The doughboys' view of America's little-known and ill-fated military campaigns agains the Bolsheviks

The condition of the book I received was exactly as described and the packaging used to ship it was chosen with care. My only issue was the cover of the book did not match the cover advertised (it was the correct book just an alternate cover design). I reached out the the seller to inquire about the cover mistake and without me even asking he refunded my purchase. Excellent customer service. I will donate the copy I received. Highly recommend this seller.

Good overall experience. The book arrived in the condition described and even earlier than expected. The price and shipping were both very reasonable. However, the packaging could have been better, as it wasn’t very protective and the book ended up with a slightly bent corner from minor bumps during transit. Nothing major, but worth noting. Overall, a reliable seller, though with room for improvement in packaging.

Good seller, item description could have been better, more details, along with the packaging for shipping (hard cover book in just a bubblewrap envelope). There is a split across bottom of spine back that was not described, otherwise its in good condition. Fast shipping and the price was reasonable. Overall happy with purchase. Thank you.
