Spare the puck, spend the buck.
This did the trick for a dragging M8000. Mind you, the banjo was on the other side from the earlier version. One could say it was on the wrong side, but I installed it anyway and it works just fine. Usual Shimano quality and ruggedness, but if they would just sell an inexpensive, high quality replacement puck for the old ones, none of this would've been necessary.
