Synopsis
California is obsessed with water. The need for it - to use and profit from it, to control and manipulate it - has shaped Californian history to a remarkable extent. Not surprisingly, the story of Californians and water is filled with intrigue and plot twists. The author tells that story from before the arrival of Europeans to the drought that ushered in the 1990s.

I am leaving positive feedback with one caveat. This hardcover book was shipped in a poly-bubble mailer resulting in a bent lower right corner on the front cover (about 1.5 inches in each direction). Otherwise it is in A+ condition as pictured and accurately described. Although the seller put the book in a poly-bubble mailer inside the outer poly- bubble mailer, the corner still punched through. Quality books really need to be shipped in a box with plenty of cushioning around the corners.
