Great title and representing the spirit of youthful America

Great classic movie as to American history and the actor(s) and time setting was true to the time era. It is important and educational for the youth to understand our history in order to appreciate the value

The volume of the music overwhelms the voices of the characters. Maybe it's because I have an old TV - not sure, but my guess is that whoever produced this product redid the audio and tanked the volume of the music disproportionately to that of the spoken word. The video quality is also not as good as the VHS.

  • The Spirit Of St. Louis is not just the name of Lindberghs airplane.

The Spirit of St. Louis is not just the name of the airplane flown from New York to Paris. It is also descriptive of the American Spirit of adventure, achievement, and determination to overcome problems accomplishing our goals. This movie is in COLOR not black and white. It is an inspiration to anyone who sees it. It has flashbacks to Lindbergh's younger days showing how he bought his first airplane and other adventures that led up to his historic flight.

  • A top production of its era.

This was a high profile release when it appeared in theaters, about 25 years after the famous solo flight. The acting and production values are excellent. Billy Wilder was co-director, and the film moves confidently beginning to end. Probably the key scene was Llindbergh's hair's breadth take off in New Jersey. The previous owner of my copy of the dvd wore out that scene, so I just skip over it. (We know how it ends anyway.)

  • A Movie to be Watched Over and Over

Great classic movie starring a bona fide' aviation war hero who happened to be a famous movie star before he became a war hero. My favorite actor of all times portraying another aviation great who got a bad rap and was kept out of WW II by FDR, but went out as an aviation tech rep and showed the flyers how to extend the range of the aircraft---and flew a few combat missions as an instructor. A movie to be watched over and over.
