    Worth it.

    I am a novice at all things guns, and have an old .22 rifle that belonged to my grandfather. I said I wanted to clean it up so I can shoot it, and this kit gave me everything I needed. Instructions were included so 20 minutes of work, some drying time after cleaning the bolt, and then reassembly, and I now have a near-80 year old gun that is clean and runs smooth. The case is a little flimsy, but it's adequate for my use. If you plan on throwing this case in the back of a pickup, you're gonna have some parts fly out. Mine is in a closet and is small enough to stay out of the way.

    A Beginner's Gun Cleaning Kit

    This is a minimal kit for some one who shoots more than a few times a year. The accessory tips in this kit are a down grade from the reliable Hoppe gun cleaning kits that I have previously owned. The smaller plastic tips, with thinner construction and very tiny threads are not likely to hold up to routine gun maintenance. The older tips were much beefier and lasted several years, giving excellent performance before finally breaking. The aluminum rod too, is a far thinner diameter than the older ones. In general, all the components of this kit seem too flimsy to meet the needs of the avid shooter; features that the photos don't show. Hopefully, the oil and solvent still live up to the Hoppe name - one of "the best" in the industry.

    Great kit...came as described and shown. Aluminum rod is less likely to damage the rifling in the bore and the ball bearing swivel handle lets the cleaning tools spin and follow the grooves. I use the .22 version to clean all my long guns and pistols (with some separately purchased bore brushes and such) ...does them all. This is the same style kit almost exactly that I bought over 30 years ago. Still the same good quality...I would recommend it to anyone. I do use Ballistol oil/cleaner though.
