    Overall this is a fantastic budget hard drive. HOWEVER... I didn't know that I needed that special sata cable that came with the hard drive in order for it to work. This is a "data center" Hard drive and I had to do a lot of research to find out that there is a power reset feature built in that requires that cable. There are work arounds but they are risky (like taking a knife to a certain pin to shave it off) but this hard drive works flawlessly after I realized it needed that cable.

    Excellent drive and lots of storage.

    I purchased this drive to place in an external USB enclosure. After seeing that this style drive needed an adapter or some modifications to work properly, due to the power adapter, I looked into ways to make this work with the external enclosure. After placing some thermal tape over the 3rd pin on the SATA connector, this thing was instantly recognized by my computer and has been running solid since. There is a TON of storage and I'm feeling confident in this purchase.

I did have an issue with one of the drives working, but this company RMA'd it right away, and I had a replacement ASAP. I couldn't recommend these guys more, this is my 2nd order with them and they were extremely helpful and responsive. 10/10 would recommend if you're looking for large drives that won't break the bank!

    Good price for large capacity used enterprise HDDs

    So far, tested 1 of 3 drives purchased. Drive seems to be in good condition but it gets quite hot even just reading data. After some extended use, we've found it so hot that a fan had to be placed in front of the drive even though the drive is being used in an external dock where the drive is inserted vertically and most of the drive is exposed to ambient air. Maybe these enterprise drives can handle this, but we want to play it safe, so we now turn on a nearby desk fan whenever using the drive for more than an hour straight.
