    stellar product and high quality

    this is a great product for shooting solar eclipses. it is an optically sharp product, with typical Marumi quality. Threads are high quality for a good fit on the lens. It worked great for my eclipse images in August of 2017. I am now looking at other opportunities to shoot more.

    Works perfectly

    If you use the settings in the (Japanese) instruction leaflet, you will get good results. I halved the exposure time to 1/8000 s, and doubled the sensitivity to ISO 200. Of course, the quality of the result depends on the quality and focal length of the objective. I used a Canon 100-400, at 400 mm. I recommend not to use shorter focal lengths.

    Exactly As Described

    This item was purchased to facilitate viewing the 21 Aug 2017 Eclipse in NA. I received the item before the event and tested the outcome. The attached photo is a hand held image with ZERO post process or editing - we can clearly see that it will manage the SUN in clear daylight. The halo is likely due to the two adapters on the lens to allow my little SX40 to use the filter. I own a 70D with a 77mm lens for greater photo options, but this was purchased for the singular eclipse. Overall, it delivers as promised.

    Excellent Product quality, very high price

    As expected just a few weeks before the eclipse a good solar filter was very hard to find. This one was great quality and allowed me to get good pictures, but the price was much higher given the demand at this time.
