This is a good game where it keeps me entertained. You have a lot of levels and bad guys to shot em' up, blow em' up, and kill em' up! The effects are creepy and it adds to the game. Unlike other games you're only allow to carry 3 weapons and in certain situations, one will work better than others. If you don't know which weapon for which situation. That is not really a big problem. The bad guys will die. One will use up a lot of ammo with less damage, some will do a lot of damage, but don't carry a lot of ammo. I personally carry the weapon that I can get the most ammo for and that doesn't mean I don't upgrade to a better weapon. Carry one powerful weapon for the bad guy who has full body armour. It will take fewer shots to take him down.
I heard a lot of cool things about F.E.A.R. when it came out for the PC many years ago. I always wanted that game after playing there free multiplayer only version and wanted to pick it up on the PC. Well unfortunately I couldn't find it on the PC for a reasonable price so since I owned a PS3 that would be my other option. Pros: Smart AI Good story Graphics good for an old game Cons: Not even scary - F.E.A.R. 2 was scarier than this Short campaign On the PS3 multiplayer is practically nonexistant (and the free PC multiplayer version players were scarce as well) I enjoyed this game very much. I thought it was weird that the guns in the game would only be 3 round bursts (even the rocket launcher) that you couldn't change the settings. I thought this was rather lame. There were not enough "scary" parts in the game but I do admit it was rather creepy. Sad no games showed up in multiplayer so I can't tell you how awesome it is on the PS3 but the PC it was pretty cool. Frame rate issues plague the PS3 version and I do feel like the frame rates where about 20 fps so that quite low. I beat this game in one day playing it for less than 10 hrs on normal difficulty. The story is good and it was rather interesting since I own F.E.A.R. 2 and played it first I was rather happy about the ending in this one. I can't wait till F.E.A.R. 3 comes out. But people who want to play F.E.A.R. should stick to the PC version as it will have better fps (if your computer can handle it).Read full review
F.E.A.R. is your basic First Person Shooter with a bit of a supernatural twist. The story does a good job at the beginning of peaking your interest but you have to piece everything together afterwards until the end. It can tend to get a little monotonous but the end does a great job of grabbing your attention again. Of course the graphics could have been better but the awesome soundtrack, voice acting, and enemy AI made up for it. Overall, I thought this game was pretty good and decided to purchase it so that I could replay the levels and enjoy some of its multiplayer.
F.E.A.R. has been out for a couple of years now and it is starting to show its age. TimeShift is very similar but has better cutting-edge graphics. F.E.A.R. is no slacker though. The A.I. is pretty good and I like the fact that cheats are almost non-existent. One bad thin is the fact that you can't do a "quick-save" as in most other shooters - you have to wait - sometimes really wait, for a "checkpoint." Don't pay full price for this one - get is cheap on Ebay.
The game was actioned for less than the original price. If you like first shooter games, this one is very good. It is very exciting and scary. The game is a mix between "Resistence: Fall of Men" and "Resident Evil". Squads of tactical teams use coordinated attacks and flanking maneuvers to pin you down and take you out. High tech assassins cling to walls and ceilings and ambush you from the shadows. Heavy armor units that soldiers will advance behind and use for cover. The graphics are impresssive and the story line is very good. This game is better than "Medal of Honor". The only thing I did not like about the game is that you can nly carry three (3) weapons at the time, so you have to keep switching constantly for a better one.
There is no boredom whatsoever. This game started out High Impact game play. It's worth the 5 stars . It has the right amount of blood and gore with military violence.

The PS3 version of F.E.A.R. is almost exactly the same as the PC and Xbox 360 versions in terms of content. You play as the newest member of the First Encounter Assault Recon, the military's top-secret task force that is assigned to deal with paranormal situations. And the mission in F.E.A.R. certainly counts as above and beyond the regular call of duty. As explained in the opening sequence, a military commander, named Paxton Fettel, goes insane and takes over a secret army of cloned soldiers that are telepathically linked to him. Fettel and the battalion of elite soldiers then go on a rampage in a nondescript American city. F.E.A.R. strikes a balance between spooky atmosphere and electric action. The gunfights in the game are impressive. Bullets tear chunks out of concrete and wood, blinding clouds of dust and debris fill the air, bodies are torn apart or slump on the ground, and the deathly silence of the aftermath contrasts sharply with the sheer chaos that erupted only moments before. Gunfights in F.E.A.R. feel right. This is partly because the weapons you have in the game feel the way weapons should—powerful. You have the standard array of guns to play around with, including a pistol, a submachine gun, an assault rifle, a shotgun, and a rocket launcher. There's also a scoped, burst-firing rifle that's a dead ringer for Master Chief's battle rifle in Halo 2, as well as an incredibly nasty particle weapon that sears the flesh off of opponents and a few other special toys. Other than the game having a bit of lag sometimes, I find nothing wrong with it. The graphics are awesome, and the gameplay is fast and fun. I definitely recommend the game. Buy it, turn off the lights, and enjoy.Read full review
Great game, the graphics have aged pretty poorly, but it can be looked over, because it's still somehow haunting and sinister. Gameplay is fantastic!

I like this game but it really not for kids... it was a werid game becuz while I was playing this game and I thought I see something like dead body peek out and looking at me but somehow it was gone in one second when I was trying find that person.. I was thinking like what the heck going on..... I'm telling you it was tricking my eye or something. Anyway, it was so cool and scary game. sometime they spook you or they trick your eye or hearing thing... Man it was freaking me out all the time while I was playing the game. It might be not good for anyone who have heart problem but Ii was fun to get spook.
I am a 40 year old soccer mom who's husband wears a suit all day and we love to relax after work and play video games...but we are picky! Resident Evil 4 is our favorite, but this one really blew us away. Our 17 year old son played for an hour and he is hooked as well.
