It has a 7200RPM rotational speed at 32 megabytes of buffer cache for retrieving data quickly, while the high GHz of the drive lets users transfer data quickly.The drive features a dual processor with the ability to handle high-speed, intensive applications. Featuring the SATA 3Gb/s interface and a 32MB cache at 7200RPM, this will provide the power, storage, performance, and dependability that you're looking for. Its impressive capabilities will produce up to a 20% improvement rate over your current server. The StableTrac technology feature secures the motor shaft at either ends in order to decrease the system vibration and to compensate for accurate tracking during read and write operations. Western Digital’s fourth-generation RAFF technology includes sophisticated mechanics to monitor the drive for up to a 60% drive performance improvement in high fluctuating environments over the previous generation of drives.Another feature of these drives is known as IntelliSeek, which calculates ultimate seek speeds at 8.9 milliseconds to decrease power consumption and reverberation. With a multi-axis shock sensor, it automatically detects the slightest shock events to the drives and compensates to protect the data.     Great storage, cheap, but lacking in speed.

    If you're looking for something inexpensive, but quiet and light on power, this is for you. The only complaint I have is that it only goes up to 70mbps on the reading test. That's not so great. I don't even know how slow it is for the writing test. I recommend using this as a backup, not as a primary hard drive.

    Super fast seek speed and quality from WD

    Great experience install 1 Gigabyte, Computer hards increased my space dramadically. Plug and play option give you more time to download your favorite movies, text files office files and back-up space. With the Gigabyte WD HD expandes the type of other files to, MP3, Digital photography. Serfing the internet became much easier because you don't have to worry about if there is enogh memory to download programs. Plentty of room to partion the HD to run other OS's ie: Windows, unix, inbutu, Linux etc.

    Relaible Hard Drive at an excellent price delivered right to my Doorstep!

    I needed a hard drive for the Win7 Pro system I built for my Grand Daughter, and the WD WD1002FBYS 1 TB drive has proven very reliable with not one logged SMART error or warning so far.
