The seller listed as a "brand new" game, but the game arrived is not sealed and only has a dirty sealing sticker, which is definitely not brand new. If I want a used one, I'll just go to local owners to find a much cheaper one. Not much to complain about the shipping though. Not the fastest, but still OK. An absolute classic compilation - Two arcade perfect ports in one package!
If you're looking for a fancy new shooter with jaw dropping graphics and modern styling, R-Types is not for you. On the other hand, if you want arcade perfect ports of two of the best shoot em up games ever created, definitely pick up a copy of R-Types! It is a must have collection for any real shoot em up fan. It features both R-Type and R-Type II as well as some bonus features and options. I particularly like the additional difficulty settings and the ability to start with more ships. Anyone familiar with R-Type games knows they will need them! To my knowledge, there are no better console translations of the original R-Type and R-Type II available. Prior to this release, my favorite (and arguably the best) arcade port of the original R-Type belonged to the TurboGrafx-16 / PC Engine. The ... There are level select, ship speed up, get all weapon upgrades and invincibility codes to be had if the games prove too difficult for you. I had to give this collection the benefit of the doubt with 5 stars because of the perfect quality of the arcade ports, the additional difficulty options, new FMV sequences and cheat codes available.

Awsome, just like I remember it playing it as a kid. The game play is exactly as I remember, and the quality of the game is great. My kids think it's too hard, even on easy difficulty. But kids today aren't used to having to make extremely quick and constant movements in the games they play now.
